A completely black screen flashes before you as the only thing preventing you from checking if your computer turned off is the loud ticking. Making it's way into the shot, like a turtle running at full speed, a clock fades in from the darkness to show it's stoic self and reveal the source of the ticking noise. A stern and solemn voice is now heard over the ticking.
“Slowly, the day is coming, my time for revenge draws nearer and nearer with every tick of the clock. March twenty-fourth will not be the Prelude to madness so much as madness returning to it's original form. A form of which can no longer be tainted.”
A man's figure now fades into screen with a familiar candle lighting up his torso. One can figure out by now that this is the person going around and calling himself “The Past”. His mask can be seen through the thick blackness of the screen. Suddenly, a sharp glimmer is caught on camera as the man moves what appear to be scissors up to his face.
“It is time to bring in a neo traditional era of my legacy. An era of pain and longevity. An era that will not die. However, this era needs it's own symbol, a logo, if you will.”
The man then grabs hold of his collarbone length hair and cuts off a thick lock around an inch from the root. He then begins to quickly cut off more and more of his hair as long strands gather over his shoulders and table that the candle sits upon. He continues to cut off hair until he is down to what appears to be the final lock of long hair left. The Past lets a smirk ripple across his mouth, and begins to speak to the camera.
“This last lock of hair I dedicate to a man named Aj Scally. As this lock of hair has seen more success and more glory then he ever has and ever will.”
With a sleek cutting noise being heard, the next thing you see is that final lock plop down onto the table. The now short haired man strokes his masked chin in pleasure as a huge grin rolls onto his face.
“Scally, you know what you must do for redemption. You know what you must do at Prelude To Madness, and deep down, I know you know who I am. I've been in matches with men looked to as heroes and icons of indy federations. Men like Vladimir Strife and Metal Dragon. Now, Scally, I know what you must be thinking... “Why me?”. I'll tell you why, you're the only one left. The only original left of a once great company. You think I'll let my era rest on your shoulders, especially without a test of will? I think not. So come this end of March, at EVPW's first Pay Per View, I propose Aj Scally versus The Past in a One Way to Hell match. Let me explain, it's a cage match with flesh ripping barbed wire interlaced with the cage. However, the cage has a roof to it, so there is no escaping. Once, every six minutes, a weapon is slid into the ring via a gap just big enough to fit it, this only happens three times the whole match. The only way to win is to literally knock your opponent out or make him tap out at any point in the match. What will you get if you accept and win, you ask? You get my respect and a promise, something I don't give often, that I will not doubt or stand in your way again. What do I get when I win? Nothing besides pride and the revival of the Darkness Prevails era.”
The past lets out a laugh sounding like it was straight from satan himself.
“I'll be looking forward to your reply.”
The screen fades to black and the promo ends.
