The Beginning

It'd be nice to start off the career of one of the most charismatic men to live with a nice story book beginning, but some people aren't so lucky. Jake Diamond, being raised by his strongly Catholic and Spanish mother and older brother, basically lived off of the dirty streets of Chicago, Illinois. At a very young age he was suspended many times for childish things like skipping, mocking teachers, and calling in bomb threats during tests before eventually being expelled. His journey wasn't for school though, but more of a physical environment, quickly earning money from scrapping on the streets. Then one fateful Friday afternoon while Jake was taping his hands up for another brawl he peered out into the living room to the sights of his brother tuning in to a re-run of then Thursday Night Smackdown. A sudden spark of amusement ignited in his mind at the sights of the high-flying action and sheer impact of every move connecting with a deadly force. The very next day Jake tried out for one of the nearby wrestling schools and, despite a flurry of stiff attacks, got the chance to be trained by some of the best in the world. When he wrestled, it almost came naturally quickly earning a position as a jobber at one of the nearby up-and-coming promotions before graduating. He expected the calls to come flowing in but, as luck would have it, not a single call came floating through his phone lines, possibly because without a phone a call wouldn't be able to reach him anyway. Jake decided to head back to high school but not to get an education, but to wrestle. Whether it was amateur or not, Jake seemed to be gifted at the sport going undefeated throughout his high school year when a sudden tap on the shoulder got his attention. He turned and noticed a scout from the popular NFWF promotion and, surprisingly, got a developmental contract signed by The Power House.

NFWF and other promotions

Jake's career began as a nobody, low carder on NFWF working under the name "The Main Event" and managing none other than The Power House. His short career with his first promotion was much better than he anticipated, quickly becoming a two-time NFWF Cruiserweight Champion and one-time NFWF Middleweight Champion. As The Power House drifted over to form his own promotion, Jake was left with nothing to do so, instead of jobbing, he decided to flock over to The Power House's co-owned corporation, KOW. While his star continued to rise in The Power House's promotion and earning yet another piece of gold to his collection, his sights were destined for something else and something much more greater. Soon after, KOW folded and Jake was left with nowhere to go, until a notice got his attentions. The next week, Jake made his debut under the moniker "Jake Diamond," an egotistical American wrestler. Despite his rookie talent and lack of experience in the ring Kingbear, leader of The Coven, immediately saw his potential and picked him up under his wing. Unfortunately for him, he joined ASWF at the worst moment when the company quickly went under, but made a huge impact for himself when he fought Hyper Elf and lost in a Hardcore match at the final Pay-Per-View. His performance in the Hardcore match sprung up many options at many different places, but instead he decided to go back to training and back to his roots.

Temporary Retirement

Jake spent most of his retirement training in a hardcore environment and practicing strict striking and aerial techniques. Most of his striking moves were learned from various forms of Martial Arts such as Karate, Taekwondo, Jujitsu, and Muay Thai heavily influenced by most famous Japanese wrestlers, but more specifically on KENTA Kobayashi. His aerial arsenal was widely increased after training in similar ways to many of the most famous independent wrestlers but mainly on those of CM Punk, even changing one of his own finishers to suit that of Punk’s Pepsi Plunge. Jake continued to train independently until he receive a fateful call by an old friend.

SCW

Thinking his career could possibly over, the call by SCW’s owner KingBear came as a relief, although Jake only had a single match in SCW before it merged with GHW. Jake spent most of his time behind the scenes but eventually came back out for “one more match”. His debut in SCW was greatly anticipated and came with great acclaim, until he rejoined forces with The Coven and igniting a feud with Human Wreckingball that would continue to rage even to today. His first and final match with SCW was at their final Pay-Per-View against Xtreme Rocker Darren in a Ladder Match, an item considered to be his weapon of choice in his match against Hyper Elf. As soon as the bell rang, the fans already realized a quick change in his usual game plan. His quick technical and submission skills were replaced with snap kicks and innovative aerial moves, even his weapon of choice was replaced with a more subtle florescent light tube. After the match, Jake remained standing and realized his place was in the ring.

GHW

Coming into GHW on a wave of momentum, Jake’s arrogance reached his peak as he felt that he was the greatest wrestler alive, even dubbing himself as “The Future”. His will was put to the test in his first match at LockDown in a Hardcore match against Hyper Elf, in a rematch from ASWF. Jake would come out on top on this bout and would only catapult his rising star to a Main Event position on Revelation. He finally got his chance in a title opportunity for the King of the Deathmatch title against fellow member Vladimir Strife and four other opponents in an Electric Pool Match. The weeks leading up to Day of Destruction would be one of his finest as he continued his amazing winning streak and winning the first round of the Cruiserweight Tournament, shortly being removed by Alex Stall due to already competing at DoD. His first lost came in at DoD coming short as Vladimir tossed him into the Electric Pool, but Jake held his head high realizing championship gold was near in his future. Jake traced back his roots and became as American as baseball and apple pie, quickly re-starting his feud against Human Wreckingball who was already fighting his allegiance of The Coven. This feud would eventually lead up to a War Games match at Total Carnage in Jake’s own demonic structure, the Chamber of Death. But before the War Games match, Jake competed and won a Battle Royal to become the new Triumph champion, adding his first piece of GHW gold to his shelf. The night before Total Carnage, Jake fought Brett Steel in a hellacious Barbed Wire Cage Match and ending Jake’s undefeated singles career. His night to show how extreme he was came at Total Carnage when his “Team Diamond” (Based mainly on Coven members) took on Wreckingball’s team with Crazy Boy and Vladimir Strife as special enforcers. The match ended with “Team Wreckingball” standing tall after The Coven completely betrayed Jake Diamond, and finally ending The Coven, splitting Alex Stall and Hawkeye against Vladimir Strife and Kingbear and fully making Jake go into his own solo career. Despite losing the Chamber of Death, his battle against Human Wreckingball would be far from over as they still continue to fight in a battle of hatred. The battled continued to rage on the weeks afterwards to Fan's Appreciation night where an angry and furious Jake Diamond challenged Human Wreckingball to a match of his opponents, a Submissions Only match. After a flurry of illegal and cheap shots, the brutal match-up of future legends ends with a double knock-out, leaving both men in the middle of the ring. With blood pouring down his face and even going so far as putting his gold on the line, as Wrestler's Appreciation week the "so-called" ending to the Wreckingball - Diamond feud ended in another Jake Diamond original match, the Midnight Massacre Match, as Jake smashed Human Wreckingball through a flaming table with a Riverside Dive. Despite reigning victorious over Human Wreckingball a week before the pay-per-view, Jake was placed in another match with his opponent and a new victim to the mix, Skull, at World Warz. Unfortunately for the Futurites, Jake Diamond failed to show due to a family problem he had to deal with. Still, with road blocks in his way, Jake Diamond managed to recover very nicely instantly beginning a true world war against enemy Canadian, Alex Stall and the Forsaken Angels. Thriving off of his imaginary destruction of the New Era, Jake set his sights on the former Roaring Tempest champion Alex Stall and his Forsaken Angels even going so far as to institute an army of his own. Consisting of former ally The Power House and unknown and mysterious Pablo Amante, Jake and his "Hatebreed" continued the war against his former Coven adversary in a familiar match, the Chamber of Death scheduled at NeXus. Although, things would take a turn for the worst for the Future before the Chamber of Death could happen, quickly rushing back home to Chicago to tend to a suffering family member, leaving The Power House and Pablo Amante to pursue their own path and leaving the GHW rosters for Japan. Although, knowing he could do nothing for his family member Jake decided, instead of defending his Triumph title in GHW, took the same path of Pablo and Power House and headed to Japan to further his career.

Part 2

Japan

Due to an internal agreement to promote the company in Japan, Jake Diamond, with the Triumph Championship, headed to the land of the Rising Sun as an International Embassador for the company. It was in Japan that Jake developed his final deadly trait to complete his unique wrestling style, a new arsenal of shoot-styled kicks and a ruthless determination to target the heads of his opponents. However, his tenure in Japan didn't last very following a confrontation with other international talents, thus sending him back to the states as the revamped undefeated Gaijin and, more importantly, still Triumph Champion.

GHW: Second run

Unfortunately, second runs typically tend to be less successful than the first and this run is no exception. Initially, things started off with a bang instantly beginning a feud with another Japanese favorite, Hawkeye, supposedly leading to match between the two hyping that neither had fought one-on-one and, ironically, the match was called off. Following this minor fued, another fued re-erupted, the battle of good versus evil or more specifically the battle of Jake Diamond versus Human Wreckingball. Wreckingball was re-joined into the battle of Jake Diamond after Lil Rey Ray seemingy became transparent during their scheduled Midnight Massacre Match, who was replaced by Wreckingball, before Lrey joined the fray again. Following the Midnight Massacre Match, which Jake won and retained in, Jake joined along with Justin Michaels who in turn joined up with Hawkeye and Lil Rey Ray thus creating the formidable stable known as Perfection. The seemingly strong bond of Perfection was put to the test many times, but none so as hard as when they faced the stable consisting of Human Wreckingball, Rhaps, Crazy Boy and Hyperion known as the Brotherhood of Chaos. However, going back to his roots in the battle with the New Era, Jake decided to confront the Brotherhood singlehandedly, fairing well as he defeated Crazy Boy in a Lion's Den match then shortly after that defeated Hyperion in the newly created Second City Street Fight. However, it was during his battle with Hyperion that Jake and Hyperion nearly did the unthinkable and managed to draw Vladimir Strife in a Handi-cap street fight following Jake laying both men out with a barbed wired steel chair then walking out. During all of this, Jake Diamond would begin a moral and personal battle, not only with pain killers and cocaine, but a confrontation with Hyper Elf and Lizzie Morna. Of course, following these monolithic battles, Jake went for the head honcho himself, the Metal Warrior, and challenged him directly to the battle to end it all, an "I Respect You" match at Salvation. Regretably, as luck would have it, before that match could take place, Jake Diamond would be suspended following a failed drug test testing positive for traces of pain killers and cocaine. It was during this suspension that Jake would be stripped of his Triumph Championship and sending him into an intense downward spiral. With things looking bleak and suicide becoming more than a faint thought, Jake thought he and his young career would be over, but luckilly it would be his dear friend Hyper Elf who would be the savior. Jake returned with a bang, restarting a battle/ challenge with the Hyper One including accepting an offer to become the new commishioner of Saturday Night Decimation. At this point, the addiction didn't change. Jake could've been the President, but nothing could halter his depression or addiction. It was why, following being handed the Charging Glory Championship, Jake Diamond would once again fall victim to the drug test. Instead of being forced out into the streets, his friends Kingbear and Zantaxm, to mention a few, sent him to a rehabillitation center somewhere in British Columbia, Canada, where Jake would spend about three more months of his life.

Rehab, Resolutions, and Revolutions

Jake was sent, rather abruptly, to this rehab center just a few hours drive outside of Kelowna, BC, where he would spend the most of his time sitting solutarilly in his room reading and studying up on as much wrestling that he could get his hands on. Rehab proved to be a definite positive step as Jake quickly beat his addiction (With the acception of his love for a good whiskey every now and then) and began to hit the Bible, just like in his childhood. It would also be at Rehab where Jake would meet the woman of his dreams, a recovering alcoholic from his hometown of Chicago. Initially, she knew nothing of his wrestling life but had in fact heard of a certain "Jake Diamond", the "bad boy of Sports Entertainment". Shortly after Jake and his mystery woman checked out of rehab, the two of them bought a condo in their hometown of Chicago, Illinois, and reside there to this day. After getting settled and becoming as relaxed as possible, Jake figured his wrestling career was over after accepting his release from GHW and sitting with a quite comfortable sum of money in the bank account, however things typically tend to get complicated once you're settled. A month or two after returning home, Jake would recieve another fateful call from his longtime friend, Kingbear. The news he recieved was both horrible and wonderful, the bad news was that his former company was dying and that many people were jumping ships hoping to not sink with it but fortunately they were jumping to a near reincarnation promotion. With the newly formed EVPW going strong, Kingbear offered Jake a spot on the roster, but only if he was ready. Feeling abit rusty but stronger than ever, Jake accepted immiediatley (Following a short talk with his woman) thus beginning a new chapter in the Jake Diamond saga.

EVPW

At first when Jake walked into the always familiar Solidcore Gymnasium everything looked the exact same, which was either very good news or very bad news. He knew that the company was in a financially difficult spot and he wanted to help out the best he could but he didn't particularily believe they were this bad off. However Jake soon realized that no matter how much of financial turmoil the place was in, that the creative powers up top had some method to their madness. The idea brought forth for Jake's return to the ring was a series of promos depicting Jake in his benevolent "Cult of Personality" persona he ended off GHW with into more of a savior type of gimmick. The countdown promos began to air quickly and go on for almost an entire month before leading up to Jake showed up to an episode of Genesis, looking the sanest he's ever been. The return topped off with Scotty Dreamer, Jake's GHW protege, coming out and challenging him to a match at EVPW's first Pay-per-view, From the Ashes. In the time leading up to the PPV Jake actually managed to defeat one of EVPW's youngest talents, Bret Baxton, and even the much more developed Desperado on seperate occassions before eventually defeating both simultaniously in a triple threat TLC match. Of all the others who Jake defeated in his warm-up matches to Scotty Dreamer, Jake rather impressively defeated El Conajo Blanco, the soon to be Imperial Champion. Then, at From the Ashes, Jake defeated Scotty in a Midnight Massacre match by a no show which actually managed to outrage the arrogant American to lash-out in a shoot promo on the youngster. However, with Scotty behind him, Jake set his sights on a much bigger goal; Vladimir Strife and his Kingdom. The one sided fued seemed to be an instant firestarter for his Jake's comeback, even though it was only him making the effort to oppose the Kingdom. Even going so far as to challenge Vladimir to a Chamber of Death Match and defeating the then Television Champion and Kingdom member, Ricky Masters, Jake also helped Kingbear recreate a new version of The Coven to oppose the mighty Kingdom. Unfortunately, just as things began to pick up, Jake suffered a severe and career threatening injury. In a triple threat match between El Conajo Blanco and Thomas Cathy, Jake Diamond botched a somersault plancha and landed headfirst on the concrete floor, fracturing the back of his skull and suffering a grade 2 concussion. Although he managed to finish the match, Jake clearly didn't win and yet wasn't pinned. Following the concussion and fracture, Jake made a few sporadic appearances in EVPW during his absence shooting promos and interviews and thus leaving the door open for himself for when he returned. Jake, however, was always one to pursue other oppertunities when he was limited in one aspect.

GHW: The Final Run and the Jake Diamond Wrestling Academy

Ever since relocating to Los Angeles, California with his fiance Elizabeth to be closer to EVPW, Jake was fascinated by the indie scene in the area. So, needing something to do, Jake made arrangements to open up his own wrestling facility to train the talent. Soon the Jake Diamond Wrestlnig Academy was born and initially business was slow but it really didn't bother him that much. As assistant trainers, Jake Diamond hired none other than The Power House and Pablo Amante to help him out. Rather ironically, the majority of his students in his first (and currently only class trained by Jake Diamond himself) was predominantly consisted of Canadians and people from South Eastern USA. Albeit, Jake knew that he was recovering almost freakishly from his injury and was prepared to go back to EVPW anytime soon just as soon as his class was finished training. Then, rather suddenly in merely a few days, Jake Diamond got a surprising call from the GHW head office and was asked if he was willing to participate in one final match with the company at their biggest event, Gods Versus Heretics. Never one to decline a quick paycheck or an opening to leave a final mark on a former employer, Jake Diamond accepted it under two stipulations; the first being that his opponent had to be a current GHW established name and the second being that it had to be in a match of his choice. Hawkeye accepted the demands almost too quickly, as if he expected nothing less. So, taking a trip down to the GHW head office to shoot a few promos and an interview or two Jake quickly found out that the match would be his own creation, the Midnight Massacre Match, and that his opponent would be none other than the founding father Trickshot. Pleased with his findings, Jake then made the trip over to Las Vegas (where the event was being held) and soon began to do light training for his final match in Gods and Heretics Wrestling. Going in with a point to prove, Jake Diamond went into the match like a man possessed with no blatant signs of ring rust. The match was definitly notable and maybe even the match of the event, even going so far as to connect with a Picture Perfect Elbow Drop from the top of a ladder inside the ring out to Trickshot out on the announce table. Jake capped off the victory soon after the move with a Second City Sleep and pinned the bloodied Trickshot, not only earning a final victory for himself but also for his new home, EVPW.
