After all the pre-PPV events take place and the crowd settles down, Lizzie Morna is standing in the ring with a microphone in her hand.
Lizzie Morna: Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to From The Ashes! It is time for our opening contest, which is an open battle royal to determine who will face the winner of tonight's T.V. title match at the next Pay per view.
When Lizzie stops speaking, The Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden begins to play throughout the Staples Arena. The crowd begins to immediately boo, even before Jeff comes from backstage. When he does, the crowd starts a "You suck" chant, which doesn't phase Jeff.
Lizzie Morna: Introducing the first competitor, hailing from Chicago, Illinois, and weighing in tonight at 236 pounds, Jeff "Smitty" Smith!
Jimmy: This last wednesday on Genesis, Jeff picked up his first career victory here in EVPW against the #1 contender for the T.V. Title, Ravel Draken. Now even though I don't like Jeff as a person, he has to be one of the favorites for this battle royal.
Ray: I hope every man in EVPW joins this match, you know what they say, the more the merrier.
Jeff is wearing a plain, black sleeveless shirt, a pair of ripped black jeans and nothing on his feet. He starts walking towards the ring while the crowd is continuously heckling him. Jeff does not show any emotion or care towards the screaming fans. He reaches the ring steps, walks up them and enters the ring. He doesn't do his usual frontflip, he just goes through the top and middle ropes. He walks to the corner and squats down as he waits to find out who his opponents are going to be. The Number of the Beast stops playing and the crowd stops booing, also curious as to who will accept the open battle royal challenge.

Burn in My Light by Mercy Drive takes over from the cheap speakers. The audience seem a little dissipointed as they spot Ricky Masters appear up on the stage. He takes a look out to the few hundreds who decided to show up for this first ever PPV of EVPW. He raises his arms into the air, spread out as if holding the entire world in his arms. A small smile appears on his face as the audience react with yet another chorus of boo's. Ricky takes his time down the ramp with his confident walk to the steel steps.
"Introducing the second competitor of the evening, from St. Louis, Missouri, and weighing in tonight at 270 pounds, Ricky Masters!"
Jeff stands completely still in the other side of the ring, his eyes studying the superstar as he takes his first step into the squared circle. Ricky smiles at Jeff, before throwing his arms up once again in the so original pose. Once his arms flop back down at his side, the music dies down as well.

After about 30 seconds, nobody comes out, and the referee whispers something in her ear.
Lizzie Morna: Ladies and Gentleman, nobody else has entered this battle royal, so by rule of the referee, this is now a singles match between Ricky Masters and Jeff Smith, with the winner going on to compete for the T.V. title next month!
Lizzie leaves the ring as the referee calls for the bell to be rung, signaling the start of the opening bout for EVPW's From the Ashes! Jeff and Ricky lock up in the center of the ring. Ricky applies a headlock, but is quickly thrown off, and bounces off the ropes. When he comes back to Jeff, he is met with a hard kick to the mid-section. Jeff follows this up with three hard right hands to various parts of Ricky's face. After the third punch, Jeff turns his back to Ricky and begins taunting the crowd. This was a bad move on Jeff's part though, as Ricky regains his composure quickly and hits Jeff in the back of the head with a forearm. This sends Jeff to his knees, holding his head in pain. Ricky then drags Jeff over to the turnbuckle and smashes his head against it. He can only do it once however, as the referee threatens to disqualify Ricky if he doesn't get Jeff out of the corner by a five count. He moves and Jeff staggers around the ring momentarily. Ricky keeps up his offense by hitting a running clothesline on his adversary. Ricky takes several steps away from Jeff before getting a walking start, jumping and executing a very nice standing leg drop to the neck and throat area of Jeff. Jeff holds his neck and starts rolling around, obviously in massive pain. Again though, Jeff gets very little time to recover, as Ricky moves towards Jeff and flips him onto his stomach. He then hooks their legs together. Ricky falls backwards, still with Jeff's leg hooked to his own, and snaps Jeff lower leg upon Ricky's impact on the canvas. Both men are lying on the canvas, Jeff holding his leg and screaming, Ricky just catching his breath. Ricky Masters rolls over to the downed Jeff and covers him in the first pinfall attempt of this match. The referee sees this and drops to the ground so he can get a good view of Jeff's shoulders while counting. 1...2...But while the ref's hand is in the air for the third time, Jeff is able to force his left shoulder off of the canvas, continuing this contest. Ricky looks up at the ref and shouts "Count faster you idiot!", before covering Jeff again. This time though, he only gets a one count.
Jimmy: Jeff isn't going to lose a match just from a few good moves, I know that for a fact.
Ray: I wish more of EVPW's men would've joined this match. I am very disappointed that I didn't get to see the finest and sexiest men in the world compete for a title shot in one ring. But these two men are just fine.
Ricky is now showing major signs of frustration, and decides to go outside the rules to try to win. He slides out of the ring, searches underneath it for a second, then pulls out a steel chair! Ricky sets it into the ring then enters it himself. He picks up the metal chair and waits for Jeff to get up and turn around, despite the referee's threats of disqualification. It takes him a while, but Jeff eventually staggers to his feet. When he turns around, Ricky charges at him and swings the chair, but Jeff ducks and avoids being bloodied. When Ricky Masters turns back around, Jeff leaps into the air and dropkicks the chair right square into his opponents face, slightly busting him open. Ricky falls to the canvas, along with the chair. The ref promptly grabs it and calls for the timekeeper to retrieve it from him. Jeff quickly takes advantage of the ref's obliviousness by grabbing both of Ricky's legs and putting them slightly apart. He then raises his leg in the air, and stomps it down onto Ricky's "Family Jewels".
Jimmy: Oh my god, what blatant disrespect to the rules. The referee didn't see Jeff nail a low blow to Ricky Masters.
When the referee turns back around, all he sees is Ricky lying on the mat, writhing in pain and Jeff catching his breath against the turnbuckle. After he is back to one-hundred percent, Jeff tries something that can be risky. First, he charges at Ricky, falls to the ground and knocks him out of the ring with a baseball slide. He then performs the riskiest move of the match. Jeff stands back up, and climbs to the top turnbuckle. The crowd isn't really into this match up to this point, mostly due to the fact that it is between two of EVPW's most hated newcomers. Jeff looks up at the crowd, whispers something to himself, then jumps off the top turnbuckle. He had his back to Ricky, so he did a backwards somersault flip, also known as a Moonsault, from the top turnbuckle, onto Ricky Masters on the hard concrete outside of the ring. Jeff hits Ricky right in the chest, which could severely injure both men. This is what sparks the crowd into the match, as they begin chanting "Holy Shit" throughout the Staples Arena. Both competitors are both motionless for several minutes outside of the ring, before Ricky starts to stir. After Ricky gets up and slides into the ring, Jeff is able to get to a vertical base and slide into the ring as well.
Jimmy: I don't know how either one of these men has an ounce of energy left. Jeff has taken several blows to the head, and Ricky is busted open. This just proves how badly both Jeff Smith and Ricky Masters want the EVPW T.V. Title.

The few feet that did seperate them after both of them had entered the ring was quickly closed in with a side headlock by Ricky Masters. Jeff struggles and eventually pushes Ricky into the ropes to get momentum to throw him off in the opposite direction. Jeff awaits his opponent. he returns from the other side, only for Smith to lower himself the ground, and then repel back into the air with an incredible dropkick to Ricky's face.
Jimmy: A great performance from Jeff Smith. He has really shown his true skills tonight at the very first special event of EVPW.
Ray: Oh yeah, he is definitely built for speed.
As Jimmy questions Ray what he meant by what he said. Jeff already had Ricky in one of the turnbuckles, letting down his fists of fury on his skull. Ricky, who's brain was too small to even realize he was being punched in the face. In fact, just the fact that most of his skull is pure bone and a very small nervous system build into his head. He was able to completely ignore the shots and throw Jeff off the second rope and come into impact with the main mat below.
Jeff gets up in a flash, and tries to throw Ricky back off his feet. Though he tried pretty hard, his attempt failed. Only to be dropped back on to the mat from a hard clothesline. Once more, the "Smitty" rose to his feet and leaps at The Kingdom member. Jeff sadly was caught in mid air, thrown upside down and slammed harshly into the mat for the third time.
Ricky Masters was completely pleased with himself. He turned around with a huge smile, and the greatest looking pose the people of the audience could ask for. Actually, it was probably the worst, but Ricky didn't know that. Ricky leaves the ring, shaking the refs hand for such a wonderful match. Thinking he has already won. The ref is completely confused and watches as Masters was just starting his descent up the ring. Jeff Smith was already at the top of the rope and throws himself up high and far, catching Masters in the back. Both men, falling to the wooden entrance ramp.
The ref looks out at the two men who were outside the ring down, and starts the count to ten. His hand was raised high with the echoing word of "one!" No sign of movement from either Newcomer. "two" followed by the chorus of audience yelling out with the ref. "three" finally gave the men life who realized that if neither of them returns to that ring soon. No one will get a title shot. Except Ricky who is completely confused by the count, and thought he already won.
Jeff was the first one to rise, but with only six more counts to go before he was counted out. Smitty stares back at the rising Ricky, and grins laying a powerful punch to Masters, laying him back out into the ground. Deciding it might be easier for a count out win.
Jeff Smight finally reached back to the ring, with the count at "Six."
This could be it ladies and Gentlemen. We could see a winner by count out!
What a dissipointed way to win. I mean, you are not going to get credibility with a win like that.
Yes, but the people in the crowd don't give two shits about these two guys in the ring. They both disrespect them.
Ricky Masters was finally on one knee at the count of "eight." His brain finally starting to function. He wobbles to a vertical stature, and takes his sweet time to the ring. "Nine" took its toll, and the audience was on their feet, wondering if the The Kingdom representative will make it in time. Hoping, crossing their fingers that the ref will count just a little faster and end it right here. The ref rose his hand into the air, "TE-"
"Masters made it! He made it! The match continues!"
You can even hear the very distinctive 'awww' from the audience. Jeff waited no time into laying stomps into Ricky's back. Taking back the advantage he started with.

Jeff continues to stomp on the back of Ricky several more times, before stopping and dragging Ricky to the nearest corner. He sets Ricky down, his head resting against the second turnbuckle. Jeff then backs up and goes to the opposite corner. He sprints toward Ricky, lifts his knee in the air and rams it right into Ricky's head. The crowd is starting to get into this match, curious as to who will win the #1 contendership. Ricky is getting to his feet slowly, still holding the side of his head. Jeff is just leaning against the ropes, taking a break and waiting for Ricky to get up. When he does, Jeff quickly moves over to Ricky and delivers several right hands to the face followed by a quick spinning kick to the sternum. Jeff then gets behind Ricky and grabs him from each underarm. Before he can successfully lift Ricky though, Masters uses all his weight and falls forward, hooking Jeff in a crucifix pin. It takes the referee a moment to comprehend this, but when he does, he immediately gets to the ground to count the pin fall. 1... 2... As his hand is coming down for a three, Jeff is able to roll over to his side, getting his shoulders off of the mat, and keeping his chances to be the #1 contender alive. Before Jeff can get back on offense though, Ricky delivers a swift kick to the side of Jeff's head, sending him to the mat. Being the competitor that he is, Ricky allows Jeff no time to heal from the hard kick. He quickly starts pounding Jeff in the back of the head with left and right forearm shots before the referee stops him, seeing that Jeff's left foot was on the bottom rope. Again though, Ricky capitalizes, and drags Jeff to the center of the ring, where he cannot get to the ropes. He then grabs Jeff's right leg, steps over it, turns around, hooks his other leg and locks Jeff in a figure four leg lock! Jeff is obviously in agonizing pain, just by the look on his face, not to mention his yelling. Ricky Masters is pushing Jeff legs against the other, attempting to win this match. Jeff doesn't give up easily though, stretching his arms out as far as they will go in an unsuccessful attempt to reach the ropes.
Jimmy: Jeff looks like he wants to tap out, but he has to fight it.
Jeff is using all of his body weight to try to get to the ropes, but he just can't. He has his hand in the air, ready to tap. The crowd is screaming, but not really towards a specific superstar. Jeff decides not to tap, but instead to try something different. He waits for a few seconds, then with a head full of steam, turns over himself and Ricky, reversing the pressure and sending all the pain to Ricky. Jeff cannot fully press on his opponents legs however, due to the pain his legs are already in. Ricky doesn't submit after about a minute, so Jeff decides to relinquish the hold and give his legs a break. Both men are lying on the mat, still moaning in pain, and holding their legs. The referee begins to count as both men are down.1... 2...3...4...5...6...7...As the referee says 7, both men begin to stir. It seems Ricky is getting to his feet the fastest.8...9...After the count reaches 9, both men get to their feet, ending the ref's count.
Ray: Good thing the count didn't reach ten, I didn't want this match between these two athletic men to end this way.
Jimmy: Ray, you just want to see ANY men wrestle, you don't care who the hell they are.
Ray: That's not true...I want to see any EVPW man wrestle! Not just any random man off the streets.
Ricky nears Jeff, who is still struggling to continually stand, and starts hitting him with a flurry of rights and lefts. Jeff is able to block a few of them before grabbing Ricky's wrist, pulling him and applying a side headlock. Jeff cannot apply pressure for long however, as Ricky grabs Jeff by the sternum, lifts him up and attempts to execute a back suplex. Although it looks good at first, Ricky is unsuccessful as Jeff is able to turn backwards and land on his feet. Once he lands, he immediately grabs Ricky by the waist and throws him over his head, hitting a devastating German Suplex! When Ricky landed, he landed on the back of his neck, which could potentially end his career, and even his life. Jeff doesn't care however, and he crawls over to Ricky and covers him. The referee doesn't count at first, which prompts Jeff to get off of Ricky and stare down the referee. He starts screaming at the ref, who points his finger at Jeff and says "Any more shit from you and I'll DQ your ass." A very pissed off Jeff walks back toward Ricky and covers him yet again. This time a count is made. The referee's hand comes down twice, and while it is coming down for a third time, Ricky miraculously gets his shoulder off of the canvas a tiny bit, which prompts the ref to stop counting and continue the match.
Jimmy: What a match this has been! How in the hell did Ricky Masters kick out of Jeff's German Suplex? I thought his neck was damn snapped! This just adds to the fact that when a title or even a title shot is up for grabs, EVPW superstars have a little extra will to win.
Jeff is now getting desperate to win this match. While Masters is on the mat, seemingly down and out, Jeff strolls over to the turnbuckle farthest away from him, and begins to untie the protective stuffed pad, which would reveal nothing but pure steel. When Jeff is untying the pad, to the surprise of everyone in the arena, Ricky Masters quickly gets to his feet, showing no signs of injury whatsoever. Jeff gets the turnbuckle undone, and throws the pad to the outside of the ring. When Jeff turns around, he never expects to see Ricky charging at him. Ricky hits Jeff with a quick clothesline, but Jeff gets right back up. This time, Jeff is introduced to Ricky's foot, right in his gut, making him bend over in pain. Ricky wraps his right arm around Jeff's neck. He then jumps and falls backwards with Jeff in his grasp, executing his finishing move, an Impaler DDT!
Jimmy: What the hell is going on? It looks like Ricky Masters was playing possum, and I would say it worked, because Jeff is down after being nailed with a hard Impaler DDT.
Ray: This match has to be over, there is no way in hell any man can kick out of such a beautifully executed DDT.
Just as Ray speaks those words, Masters hooks Jeff's left leg and pins him. The referee starts to count, and even he thinks he will be counting three. His hand hits the mat a first time. He raises it back, and smacks the canvas for the second time. One more and Ricky Masters will be the number one contender for EVPW's T.V. Title. The ref picks his hand up, and lowers it one more time. But this time, he doesn't get to smack the canvas, because Jeff Smith, by some incredible feat of desperation, kicks out of the Impaler DDT. The fans, the referee, the announcer, and especially Ricky, who looked cocky after he hit his finisher. That cocky smirk is wiped off his face however. Ricky screams as loud as he can and pounds the mat with his fist. He then starts to maul Jeff in a maniacal fit of rage, punching him wherever he can, until Jeff gets his right hand on the middle rope, but that doesn't stop him. The referee has to force Ricky off of Jeff, who is just trying to protect his head, which is still throbbing from the Impaler DDT he received.
Jimmy: Well I've seen it all now folks. For two superstars who are fairly new to EVPW, this is easily the best match these two men have competed in.
While the referee is calming down Ricky from his fit of rage, Jeff slides out of the ring and gets time to recover from the offensive attack of Ricky. The ref steps away from Ricky, who immediately looks for Jeff, but does not see him. Little does he know, Jeff is crouching outside of the ring, anticipating his opponent. Ricky falls right into his trap, and goes outside the ring, with his back to Jeff. Jeff quickly pounces up and tackles Ricky, as the two start going back and forth with punches, flipping and tossing on the hard concrete floor. The fans of EVPW are now on the edge of their seats, just waiting for something big to happen again.

OOC: What was that? Ok, did you even look at Ricky Master's contract? One, he is too stupid to even know how to do a figure four lock. Second, he doesn't even have the 'impaler DDT' in his move set. Thus, it is NOT his finisher. Just saying is all.
The crowd is finally into the match. On their feet, as close to the barricade as they could get. Ricky has Jeff leaned against one of the steel barricades with a quick slap across the face. Jeff answers back with a strong forearm to the side of the face causing his opponent to stagger away, letting him loose from his grasp. Jeff takes a step closer, throwing another punch, his body now against the steel steps. At the moment the ref is yelling for the two men to get back in the ring before they were both counted out. Jeff charges at full force, trying for a spear to the mid-section, only to have his shoulder and head ramming into the steel steps.
Wow, a clever manuever by Ricky Masters.
I don't think he meant to do that Jimmy. Though I thought it was quite smooth the way he did it.
Masters rolls himself back into the ring, leaning up against the ropes for support. Awaiting to see if his oppnent will live and make it to the ring in time. The audience are shocked, watching as Jeff eventually was able to get to his feet. The count of 6 striked all over the arena. Smitty rolls in, still breathing quite heavily. With Ricky panting, his mouth spreads out in a grin with a wicked idea. He takes his position on the opposite turnbuckle. His feet sliding across the mat, licking his lips for the opportune moment. Jeff was able to lift to one knee which was the signal for Masters attack. He starts out with a quick sprint, into a full out Rush at his opponent.
He's going for it!
No! Not the kick to the head!
His foot raises aimed directly at Jeff head, wanting to finish this match now and for good.
HOLY SHIT! WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?
Jeff was up, he was able to dodge the move. He begins his assault on Ricky Masters. He wraps his arms around him, and tosses him over once again. His neck smacking against the mat like thunder. The audience gasp, their eyes fixed on this match. Ricky was out cold, no sign of movement except for the occasional twitch from his body. Jeff, almost out of it crawls sluggishly over the Kingdom member's body. His hands resting over his chest with the ref sliding into play.
The audience chant with him.
1...
2..
3-NO!
The crowd unbelieved by these two motivated superstars. Glad that this match is only the first match of the grand PPV evening. Smith grasps on the short hair of masters and drags him to the center of the ring. His desperation, his attempt to recieve that free title shot is in his sights. With only one last thing in mind. His finisher. Jeff kicks Ricky in the gut and tucks his head in between his legs.
Ray: WHOOOO!
Oh shutup!
He grabs around his waist and picks him up in the powerbomb position. Ricky, who seemed to be afraid of heights, started spazzing around frantically. Scared out of his mind from where he was at. All the moving around caused Jeff unable to hold the heavyweight up any longer and falls onto his back with Masters on top. Ricky begins pounding away at the middleweight. ground pounding his way to victory. Each thrust more severe than the last. Eventually he stops and torques Smitty's head in between his arms into what masters thinks is the most deadliest move of all time: The Chin Lock. Each second within Ricky's grasp was like an hour of charades. The only thing Ricky was effective at with this move, was containing his opponent between his arms. No where to grab, no way to escape. The ropes were a foot away, and the only way to reach them was to possibly crawl, if you had the power and strength to do it. It even seemed like the crowd turned to a pack of crickets.
This could be it ladies and Gentlemen! No where to go! He could tap out or fall asleep any second!
