The scene begins in a courtroom, the judge and bailiffs in their appropriate seatings. A group of people, the jury, walk into the room.
Bailiff: "All rise for the verdict."
The civilians in the benches behind the accused stand up, the jury progresses into the jury benches, all of them taking a seat. We pan across the room, and at the table sit four men. The first has a crew cut, lightweight glasses, matching jacket, pants, and tie with a maroon shirt. Next to him sits Matthew Oliveira, in his formal wear -leather jacket, shirt, jeans. The man in maroon whispers in Matt's ear, it's his lawyer. Seated beside Matt is Vladimir Strife, in his loose black jeans and raven blue shirt. He lays his hands on the table, still sporting his leather beating gloves. The fourth man is also in a suit, black and light blue.
"All may be seated."
Everyone sits, the judges eyes glancing over the accused, and their legal representatives. He fixes his spectacles in line with the little hair left on his head. His brow furrows, ready to go on with the sentencing.
Judge: "Would mister Matthew Christopher Oliveira please stand."
Matt stands, his lawyer standing up with him.
Judge: "Mr. Oliveira, you already know the offenses against you. How do you plead?"
Matt: "...guilty...asshole..."
Judge: "What was that?"
Matt: "Nothin'."
Judge: "Very well, what has the jury decided?"
One juror stands, a sheet of paper in his hand.
Juror: "...we hereby confirm one Matthew Oliveira guilty of the following charges: Thirty-seven counts of threat, including the promissory note of death, One count of personal symbolism and lighting an object aflame in a public place, Two counts of aggravated assault on July 14th, with two more counts of assault with a weapon on the same date, Brandishing a home-constructed weapon with conspiracy for assault, Twenty-two counts of assault at a show called "NeXus", accompanied with premeditation and acts of maiming and/or paralysis, Two parking tickets, One count of selling tic-tacs claiming to be drugs, Public drunkenness, Public vulgarity. Conspiracy to murder, Multiple cases of assault in all three degrees, and disturbing the peace."
Judge: "Very well. Oliveira may sit, would Vladimir T. Strife please stand."
Matt sits, Vlad stands up with his attorney.
Judge: "You do know the charges against you, Mr. Strife?"
Vlad: "...what? What were they?...oh, THOSE charges. Yeah."
Judge: "Very well, how do you plead?"
Vlad's attorney whispers into Strife's ear.
Vlad: "I plead insanity."
Judge "In due time. Please state the guilty cases."
The juror takes a deep breath in, it'll be a long run.
Juror: "We hereby find Vladimir Strife guilty of: ninety-two cases of assault and battery, twenty-two cases of threats concerning injury and/or death, an intangible amount of public misconduct, multiple counts of disturbing the peace, one count of assault CAUSING maiming or paralysis, one count of assault on the physically handicapped, multiple counts of physical, emotional, and mental abuse, twenty cases of assault over the process of one year, one hundred and nineteen cases of assault with a weapon, three counts of arson, assault on unconfirmed "professional wrestlers", one count of accepting the soliciting of sexual acts..."
Vlad: "...Singapore was awesome..."
"one count of domestic disturbance, twelve counts of vandalism, conspiracy to solicit fireworks and explosives..."
"...and so was Tokyo..."
"...and one count of progressive battery causing the physical impairment of one Mr. Draigon."
Judge: "Then, by the power placed by the United States Legal System, I hereby sentence one Matthew Christopher Oliveira to six months imprisonment, and three years of probation, sided by a fine of $10, 000 dollars to be paid toward the court. As for Vladimir Strife, I place you with one year of isolated imprisonment, three years of probation, and to seek psychiatric counseling. Now, gentlemen, before this case is closed, is there anything else you would like to come forward with."
Vlad raises his hand, the judge nods to let him speak.
"...it was for the KULT, by the KULT, and only for the survival OF the KULT."
Matt remains seated, now hunched over the table. One of the officers has him sit up, revealing he's engraved the K ensign, an Anarchy symbol with the "A" replaced by a "K". He brushes his fingers over it, feeling the grooves he's dug in by a razor blade in his hand.
Judge: " Court adjourned."
Everyone files out of the courtroom, and we fade to another scene. "Puritania" by Dimmu Borgir is playing, two men in orange prison jumpsuits are walking down the cell block accompanied by guards. They stop, the K ensign spray-painted in black on the back of the uniforms, just below the inmate numbers. The men are turned around to face the camera, revealing Matt and Vlad in shackles, both grinning the grin of Satan himself. "Puritania" continues playing, at a blaring level, "WELCOME TO THE KULT" shows up on the screen before fading to black, the K ensign shown aflame before cut.
(OOC: No, we are not in prison now, just an "out there" promo idea I had. This is basically announcing the debut of a new tag team...and a sequel to KULT #1.)
END OF THREAD...comments? Pweeze?
