In the interest of not just roleplaying, but EVPW-ing like the good old times me and Desperado came up with an idea that I’m going to pitch to you and ask for your opinions (the ones who are around anyway). We’ve tried and seem to fail to breathe permanent life into the place because of our dwindling numbers, and every time we “re-launch” we seem to hit a brick wall after a few weeks in. So instead of trying to do the impossible and try what has failed time and again we came up with the idea of a tourney. Yes a tournament! Imagine King of the Ring more or less but with a twist. The goal here is to rekindle that tiny little spark if it still exists and turn it into the good old flame or relieve that tiny itch we’re all feeling for a good old EVPDubing. If it works, excellent! We could always expand to more stuff like this every few weeks/months or even bigger and better thing, who knows maybe we could build on this and bring the entire place back up but at this time… that’s a stretch.
The idea and it’s just this at the moment an idea; is for an EIGHT man competition. The prize is undecided: this is where you can come up with ideas for belts/honours/etc. The primary goal here is to make it fast paced and not drag it out until people lose interest and everything cools down from no shows or delayed posts. So we’re going to do it in the space of two weeks consisting of three cards i.e. 3 separate shows on the road. Each show is going to be 4 days long, so let’s say if we start on a Monday, show ends on Thursday and the new one starts immediately the day after. The eight people will face each other in one on ones and the winners will advance to the semis for the next show. On the second show there will be two semis consisting of the previous show’s winners plus a Day one Loser four man fight (all the match stipulations are undecided at this time) the winner of which will join the two semi-finalist winners in Show 3 where the Three man Final will happen. To make things more fun we can do one of those special shows we used to do in GHW where we’d tour Tokyo for instance, something special like that and give it a different taste than a normal WNG or a PPV from the previous eras. This would add further spice and motivation for some cool promo/funny segment type things just to make the experience tastier.
Now what Despy tells me is that apart from us two he has found another 6 people willing to do the gig, but if there are more of you, well you know that we’ll love you even more for it. The important thing is to do this very soon and not let this to remain as… most ideas remain… just there to discuss and forget about it. That means we want to do this ASAP starting TOMORROW IF IT INDEED IS POSSIBLE! One more thing, if you know you can’t, or you MIGHT not be able to show or could possibly have issues IRLIFE that stops you from posting please don’t bother. It will ruin the experience for everyone else. Two weeks ONLY and within that time we want to start FIREWORKS go ALL OUT and write our hearts out. Come up with witty promos to bad mouth each other in 9000 new ways and smash our OOC selves into pieces for the sake of one thing, fun!
