Fresh from his outing at a local theme park Tayler has changed out of his merchandise and is wearing a plain EVPW shirt and a pair of jeans. The camera man follows behind him as usual until he stops. Tayler turns and addresses the camera, signaling for it to back up and get a view of the building his is about to enter. The camera man follows his instructions and pan’s out to show they are at the local hospital; the sign alone changes the whole tone of the segment as a menacing smile seeps onto Tayler’s face. He points at the sign ensuring every audience member can see where he is before he speaks.
“Here we are Christopher; it’s a place you will get very acquainted with after the 17th. Don’t worry it’s a great medical facility or so I’m told. I’ll return the favor Chrissy, when you crippled by the pain coursing through every inch of your body I’ll drop you off at the curb on my way home.”
Tayler waves his hand signaling for the camera to follow him in. The screen momentarily fades to black rather than showing mundane footage of Tayler walking around the place. Once the camera returns to life and begins rolling footage again, TNT is about to enter the door to an unmarked ward. His entrance into the room is greeted by applause and clapping, which is generally an odd reaction for Tayler. The camera pushes in behind him and catches a glimpse of a bunch of sick children in hospital gowns, some of them have their heads shaved, while others have IV’s attached to their arms. Tayler hugs a few of the children and hands out various bits of EVPW merchandise, shirts and posters of almost everyone on the roster.
“Now, now children, its story time.”
As soon as the words are mentioned the children that aren’t restricted to bed run around frantically and grab little plastic chairs and gather around him. Once all the children are in place, Tayler sits on the floor cross legged with a multi colored cover.
“Hmm, which story shall we tell, how about the fall of the dark jester?”
The children all clap wildly and smile at the idea. Tayler nod’s and turns a few pages into his book before beginning to spin his tale.
“There once was a king who lived in a far away land, this was the land where eagles soared and legends were born. One such legend was the dark jester of course, although the jester was never brave or smart enough to be a hero in his own right. No children, no matter how much the jester boasted of his great accomplishments, no matter how many dragons he claimed to have defeated, nobody ever considered him a hero. The jester was always doomed to be just that, a joker who would entertain all the great hero’s of Concordia. They would gather round the court and laugh at all of the jester’s antics and despite him trying his hardest to be scary, no one was ever afraid of him. Do you know why children?”
Tayler looked around at the kid’s who were all scratching their heads attempting to figure out why they didn’t fear the jester. One child spoke up “His clothes were funny?”
“That’s right Samantha, his clothes were funny! You see the jester always wanted to be a great warrior, a man that all his special friends like Shad could be proud of. You see Shad and the jester were special friends like Johnny’s two moms. So the jester would run around in black and red robes attempting to hide how afraid he was and Shad was so eager to please him he would dress up in matching robes. The two silly Billies had no idea that everyone at court knew their big secret, but we will get to that later. So Jester and Shad ran around court in their silly outfits telling everyone that would listen about their heroic tales, how they defeated dragons and punished all the bad men. The truth of course was that they sat in the Jester’s room braiding each other’s hair and talked about all the dreamy hero’s they had seen at court that day.”
Tayler took a moment as a few of the children laughed and giggled. He looked all around the room before putting his finger to his lips and signaling for the kid’s to be quiet by shushing them.
“One day the Jester decided the only way for others to respect him was for him to run around with a sword and show people he could use it. Now this would have been fine kid’s until he picked a fight with one of the court. The member of court he picked on was an old tactician, a man who hadn’t fought in years. The tactician though knew the jester well, they had fought each other before a few times for the courts pleasure and every time the tactician had defeated the jester. So as you could imagine, the tactician was surprised at how brave and boisterous the jester was about challenging him. Then he remembered that the jester never fought with honor, he always used his friends, attempting to turn the tide of battle in his favor. Now this tactic never worked against the tactician but it had seen the jester win a few battles here and there against others. Don’t get me wrong kids, it’s good to work as part of a team but not when you try to gang up on others and bully them. And that is exactly what the Jester and Shad were trying to do.”
The kid’s began talking amongst themselves about the pros and cons of bullying as Tayler studied their reactions. Once they had stopped talking, TNT decided to continue.
“So next week children I will tell you all about the tactician fighting the Jester. But I’ll give you a little hint, bullies never win.”
Tayler stood up and took a moment to ensure that all the kids had received a piece of merchandise each; he took the time out to sign a few bits before he left the room. He was about to turn down the stair case towards the exit but stopped in his place. Instead he found himself wandering towards intensive care ward. He stopped outside the ward, choosing not to go in as he didn’t want to disturb any of the poor bastards who found themselves in there.
“Now that story time is over Christopher, I’ll address your classy video. I hope that you and Shadow have both studied all my matches closely, I really do. The last thing I need is for our match to be yet another walk over, where I destroy you with ease. Feel free to compare me to Alex Stall or whoever else you want but I guarantee you on the 17th I will show up and compete. Now Christopher I know that deep down that is the last thing you want to hear, secretly your hoping that my reputation for no showing events will continue and you can claim victory by proxy. That would of course allow you to save face, but unfortunately for you, the issues that once plagued me, that caused my lack of reliability are gone. I got that particular monkey off my back a long time ago. Chris I have to say, I’m enjoying being inside your head, it’s as dark and demented as I expected. The best thing about it though, has to be the space; it’s roomier than my last apartment.”
Tayler’s face is painted with his trademark smirk as he holds up a 2 year coin from “AA”.
“You see Chrissy, clichés and stereotypes aren’t going to protect you come the 17th.”
