The Scene opens backstage with Red Winters pacing back and forth in the hallway, his manager TPK leaning back against a nearby wall. Winters is fuming, his head still bandaged from last weeks encounter with one Spike Steel. Meanwhile, TPK seems to be off in his own little world, which is not that uncommon.
Red: Seriously, Spike Steel? How the hell did I get jumped by that fat piece of garbage!? Not pointing fingers, but where were you!?
TPK: How bad did he get you? I was gone last week, had that Waffle eating contest. No losers in those, lemme tell ya!
Red stops in his tracks, the thought coming back to him clear as day, how is it he could forget that? His mind had been going in and out on him all week, but memory is a tricky thing. Red and TPK start toward the ring when out of nowhere Red's phone begins to buzz, he pulls it out of his pocket and glares at the screen for a minute before glancing at TPK.
Red: It's from King Bear, and he must of lost HIS phone because he's texting me from a blocked number. Look, go see what he wants will ya mate? I got something I need to take care of in the ring.
The scene fades, a few commercials play, and when Decimation comes back on the air the arena booms to life with the sound of Hall of the Mountain King. Red Winters, wasting little time, pulls his shirt off of his body, and discards it atop the steel ramp. As he nears the bottom of the ramp he grabs a mic that was left on the ring steps, and climbs up into the ring.
JP: I have a good feeling, I KNOW where this is going. Red looks pissed off, and after the events of last week he has every right to be! Not only was he laid out by Spike Steel, but Steel also stole Red's chance of FINALLY getting a win here in EVPW.
Red: I'm not going to come out here, and whine about last week Spike. You got me, all be it from behind, but you got me. Grand job! But that was then, let's see how you fare when I'm ready for you! If you have the set of Steel Balls you claim, you'll face me right here...RIGHT...NOW!
It isn't long before Stranglehold by Ted Nugent blasts over the PA, a mixed reaction sounds from the EVPW faithful. The Master of the Open Door Shit slowly trekds towards the ring, getting easily passed by a ref who is making his way to the ring to officiate the unscheduled contest.
Ray: Uggo alert! Thank god for shirts, right Jimmy!?
Spike finally reaches the bottom of the ramp, and starts to climb into the ring. Red, however, doesn't seem intent on playing this one as fairly as usual. Winters begins to rush Spike, but is cut off when the official positions himself in front of Winters, and forces him back into his neutral corner until Spike is inside the confines of the ring. As soon as the sound of the bell can be heard, Winters nails Spike in the jaw with a strong upwardly thrust knee to the chin. Steel is sent reeling back, and is almost knocked out of the ring byt the sheer force of the hit. Saving himself from a fall, Spike returns fire at Red, lowering his shoulder and sending the top of his head rocketing into his opponent's breadbasket. With Red Winters winded, Spike cradles his head under his arm, but as he starts to drop to his back for a DDT, Red locks his arms around Spike's midsection, and heaves him unceremoniously overhead. The Crimson King follows up, leaping into the air, and bringing the point of his knee down into the cranium of Spike steel. As The Cody Cannibal rolls around on the ground, Red seems to be finding his groove. Not wanting to slow the pace any, Winters pulls Steel to his feet, he goes to whip Spike across the ring, but this is reversed and it is Red Winters who is now being slung across the ring. As The Englishman rebounds towards Spike, the Wyoming Wild-Man lowers his head, but it's a bit premature as Red uses the opening to shoot yet another knee into Spike's dome. Feeling the match nearing an end Red slowly positions himself at the back of the rising Spike Steel. However, just as Red locks in the Cobra Clutch to set up for his finishing maneuver all the lights in the arena die down causing a murmur to erupt.
JP For those of you watching this at home, if you can still here this broadcast we are experiencing a slight technical issue. We hope to have this problem resolved swiftly however, so don't change that channel.
A crackling noise is heard, followed by a faint blue arc that can be seen in the ring, moments later a thump is heard followed by the shuffling of feet. After what seems like eternity the lights finally come back, only to reveal Red Winters laid out in the middle of the ring, and the ref laid out on the outside of it. Winters' fae has been covered in clown make up, a big red nose, and a red wig, the letter P written on his chest in white paint. On the ground next to Red is a cellular Telephone, a pic of TPK frozen into the screen, his body staged in similar fashion with the slight difference, the letter is a C and is red instead of white. The sight of the lifeless bodies cause a few of the audience members to begin booing loudly.
JP: What the hell? Looks like somebody wanted to make Red Winters look like a clown. But what's with the letters? Two different attacks, two different letters! Clearly something foul is going on here, but I'll be damned if I know what to make of...
As JP is trying to finish his thought, he is cut by the sound of Circus music. The scene fades to black leaving everyone in the arena confused.
