Date: Mid Week
Time: 10:00 A.M.
Location: Concord Community YMCA in Concord, California.
Event: Anti Bullying, anti drugs, anti all things bad. =D
Eight young children, 4 males and 4 females, ranging from age 7 to 11 gathered excitedly around the portly, smiling old athletic director that stood before them. Mr. Spalding is his name and he calmed the chattering kiddies down with subtle hand gestures.
Mr. Spalding: "Kids, it is an honor to be with you here today and to be able to support this cause. You are all so brave. So brave in fact, that we decided to make your wishes come true. Your parents and school teachers asked you all who was the one person you'd like to meet, and every one of you said one name. Wolverina. So, without further adieu, consider your wish... GRANTED!"
He stepped out of the way and motioned toward the door behind him. The children sat silent, hearts pounding, wondering if it really was true. It was. Their precious little eyes lit up like a child's does on Christmas morning when Wolverina stepped through the door. The People's Princess was clothed in a pink shirt, form fitting blue jeans, and athletic sneakers of the Nike brand. Most notable, though, was the heavily dimpled genuine smile that dominated her pretty features. Her eyes sparked with as much excitement as theirs did, and she met them on the floor, dropping to her knees as they plowed into her.
They clung to her body with hugs coming from every which way, much like hungry pups would fight over the last tit for suckle on momma dog's belly. Haven was delighted. She gave back as many hugs as she got and then some, then commenced to kissing them more than they ever have been before - possibly by even their own family. Wolfie knew for these underprivileged kids it would be one of the greatest memories of their lives and she was damn determined to make it one to carry through their lives and beyond. They kept yelling her name and shouting different things.
Haven: "Seems like my little believers are as happy to see me as I am them! Oh and if we're going to be best buddies I need to know your names. Who do we have here? A bunch of little princes and princesses I see."
Jimmy, Kayla, Daniel, Rose, Buddy, Gail, Luke, and Lisa were the names joyfully screamed back at her. She repeated their names one by one and gave them a warm, toasty hug each. From there, she hushed them with a playful finger on her lips.
Haven: "I didn't just come with hugs and kisses. I brought goodies too!"
A lanky young man that works for the center stepped into the scene carrying a big bag. Wolverina took it from him with a blessed thanks and then opened it up. The wide eyed kid gathered even closer around as she teased them a little bit by not immediately producing anything from the bag. Alas, though, they were gifted with candies, stuffed animals, toy action figures, autographed on-the-spot pictures and even some cash prizes. As she did this she talked more with them, getting to know what part of town they're from and other info. Most come from bad areas. She finally got them calmed down enough to form a half circle around her as she sat Indian style.
Haven: "Look y'all, as much as I like being your hero, I've got nothing on any of you. You guys and gals come from some pretty rough areas around here, but each of you have rose above it and have made your communities and schools proud. Believe it or not, you even made this world safer. The more of you we have saying no to drugs and standing up to bullies who treat others like crap, the better off we'll be in the long run. You are the future. You are MY future. You are OUR future. You all have saved the world already, you just don't know it yet."
They looked to one another with impossibly huge smiles and widened eyes. Smiling also, Wolverina got to her feet and pointed to the court.
Haven: "Okay my little heroes, quick tip to stay ahead of the bad guys. Sports. Get active and stay active. But most importantly, have fun. Who wants to play some basketball?"
Of course, they all raised their hands and began verbally jousting for the services of Haven on their teams. In the end, however, Wolfie played on all their teams and even played some volley ball and jump rope with them. Noon was drawing close and bellies were growing hungry. There was only one solution for this.
Haven: "PIZZA! MOUNTAIN DEW! AND ICE CREAM! Come and get it hero squad!"
They came, they ate, they about exploded at the guts. Soon they sat around the gym's boxing ring as Haven stood inside it, still awe struck as they had been the moment she stepped through the door.
Daniel: "Wolfie, is that big mean looking woman I saw on TV trying to be your bully?"
Kayla: "Yeah, is she? She looked really scary! She is so big and strong and I don't think she likes you."
Haven smiled sweetly at them.
Haven: "Nobody is my bully. I'm just like you guys and gals. I don't tolerate that stuff. I stand up for myself and I stand up for those who are too weak to. Sure, she's a bully to a lot of other women, and even some men, but not to me. Yeah, she tried last week on TV. But look at what happened when I stood my ground. She backed off. Look, let me tell you about Aryana, that's her name. Yes, she's big. Yes, she's strong. Yep, she's tough as nails. But she's clumsy, she's slow, and she lacks technique. I have two things that will forever elude her - intelligence and skill. Actually, I have three things above her. The last one, believe it or not, is functional strength. Aryana is three inches taller than me and outweighs me by 32 pounds, but I'm actually stronger. Heck, I can bench press a Buick if I'm all jacked up on Mountain Dew. I'm stronger than her mentally and especially physically. Think about it. I have this... "
Haven flexed her tight, toned, muscular right arm and the kids' jaws dropped at the sight of an impressive bicep shooting up.
Haven: "Aryana doesn't have that. Well, I take that back. She has it, but it hangs from under her arm along with the rest of the fat from her disgusting sea-cow of a body."
They all got a kick out of the insult and laughed merrily.
