The easily excited Solid Core Gym crowd quiets down to listen to Lizzie, who stands in the center of the ring ready to announce the next match.
Lizzie: "The following is the first ever Outside the Box match! There are no countouts and you can only score a pinfall or submission outside of the ring!"
"South of Heaven" by Slayer hits the PA as the crowd shows a mostly positive reaction, the normally hated Metal Dragon being warmly welcomed into the arena as the fans seem to care more about watching him wrestle than whether they're supposed to cheer or boo him. MD comes through the curtain in his usual non-flashy ring gear of long black tights and black wrestling shoes and begins walking down the ramp, surprised at the positive reaction he's getting and taking the time to slap hands with a few of the fans on the way down.
"Introducing first, from Nashville, Tennessee, weighing in at 220 pounds, Metal Dragon!"
JP: "Well, I can think of few people who are more fitting to compete in something called an Outside the Box match than Metal Dragon. This should be an interesting contest, Ray."
Ray: "Exactly right. And he's gonna face a new guy that's already pissed plenty of people off: David Payne. And in this match, they can be pinned in the crowd! They can be pinned in the parking lot! They can be pinned on top of the freakin' arena!"
MD finishes with his ego trip of not being booed and slides under the bottom rope into the ring before warming up just a bit more, waiting for his opponent to show.

(OOC: Just to clear one thing up, Vlad said that there ARE disqualifications in this match. So, for example, you can whip your opponent into a car but you can't start strangling them with the seatbelt.)
David drops the microphone on the ground and soccer-kicks it out of the ring before walking over to the ropes and trading a few taunts with the front-row fans, some of which are offended by the newcomer's words and some of which just want attention. David continues the exchange of words totally unaware that Metal Dragon is creeping closer to him, and the bell rings simultaneously with MD shoving David face-first into the corner and beginning to deliver punch after punch to the back of his head and upper back, driving him down into the corner of the ring before the referee orders him to stop. MD backs away as the startled David pulls himself up in the corner.
JP: "Alright. The bell has rung and now Metal Dragon and David Payne have gotten started, Dragon taking advantage of the new guy's distraction."
Ray: "So the first thing Metal Dragon does in his new company is deliver a cheap shot in a match? I guess he left his integrity behind as well."
David storms out of the corner and shoves MD before MD latches his arms onto David's collar and elbow to put the two competitors into the aptly-named tie up. Being the stronger man, MD begins pushing David back into the corner before the quick Payne ducks and traps MD's legs between his own and pushes MD's legs back, tripping MD and giving him a Drop Toe Hold that plants his face into the second turnbuckle. David gets up and pulls MD out of the corner by the waistband then grabs MD's hair and leads him over to the ropes, before laying MD's throat across the top rope and pulling the rope up at the same time, choking MD at which point the ref begins a five count. The count reaches 4 and Payne quickly pushes MD's head down for a split second before letting go, bouncing MD's throat across the rope as he springs off of it and his momentum knocks him to the mat. Payne then slides under the bottom rope and reaches into the ring to grab MD's leg before pulling him out of the ring only to have MD land on his feet and immediately deliver a left hand to the cheek that sends David stumbling back. MD kicks David in the stomach before grabbing his head as he doubles over and delivering repeated knees to the face, four of them before pausing and delivering a huge one as he lets go of David's head and Payne's upper body is slung back from the impact. The egotistical newcomer falls back and hits his head on the crowd barricade as the referee steps through the top and middle rope and out of the ring and MD grabs one of David's ankles before turning him onto his stomach and placing his knee on the top of the barricade as the crowd for some reason decides that they want to touch Payne's foot. MD then steps over David's thigh and falls to one knee on the leg he stepped over it with to reduce the room it has to move, then grabs David's calf and pushes it downward to apply pressure to David's knee on the top of the ring barricade. MD retains the hold for a moment before David kicks him in the face with his free leg, making Dragon let go and back away.
"Very innovative Knee Bar there by Metal Dragon in the opening minutes of this match? Ray, how can David Payne keep the veteran from just wearing him out?"
"Payne's not as strong, but he is quicker. I haven't seen what he can do, but he needs to just go at full speed this whole match, because you know that Dragon is going to."
David allows his lower body to slide off of the barricade away from MD, who approaches him and begins pulling him up only to receive a right hand to the stomach. David gathers himself on his feet and opens his hand before slapping his palm down on MD's chest, a few scattered shouts of "Wooo!" coming from the crowd before MD gathers himself and pushes David's arms out of his way to rear his arm back and deliver a huge chop with the back of his hand to David's diaphragm that elicits a nearly unanimous "Wooo!" of approval from the crowd before David gasps in pain and backs away.
"THAT is how you throw a chop! It even hurt to hear that!"
"I don't like Metal Dragon anymore. I don't really pay attention to what he does."
Payne gets over the pain and delivers a round kick to MD's ribs before grabbing his arm and slinging him into the ring post. MD hits the cold steel and stumbles back as he barely keeps his balance before David jumps onto the apron and leaps off of it with his legs both extended to deliver a Missile Dropkick to the back of the dazed MD, the impact knocking him flat on his face. David then stands over the downed MD with one leg on each side of his body before dropping to his knees and turning to the side, his legs flipping MD over and pinning his shoulders to the mat while Payne lies on his stomach as the ref drops down to make the first count of the night. 1... 2... MD raises a shoulder to break the count before sliding backward to get out of the pin, then rolls backward to get up as David rolls over and gets to his feet and they slowly approach each other again before David quickly moves in and applies a collar-and-elbow to MD that pushes him back onto the barricade for a moment. MD as the stronger man pushes David off of him and delivers a kick to David's stomach, but David catches it under his arm to which MD replies by swinging his other leg up to attempt an Enziguiri that David ducks before pushing MD into the barricade then dropping his opponent's leg and sticking his arm out to deliver a clothesline to the back of MD's head that sends him spilling forward over the retaining wall and into the crowd, who scatter as MD flips forward and lands on his back and David climbs over the barricade.
"It's in the crowd now!"
"The farther away from the ring they are, the more that that raging hardcore psycho Metal Dragon has an advantage. Payne needs to get this match under control quickly."
"I'm sure the crowd would disagree, Ray. They love it when the wrestlers come to pay them a visit!"
David covers MD as the ref climbs over the barricade into the crowd and counts: 1... 2... MD kicks out. David pulls MD up by the hair and grabs his arm to attempt an Irish Whip toward the barricade next to the entrance ramp but MD plants his feet and turns around before jumping and tucking Payne's head under his arm and falling backward, planting the newcomer's head into the concrete floor with a huge DDT. MD rolls David over and covers him as the ref drops down again: 1... 2... the dazed David kicks out before MD quickly gets up and grabs his head then sits him up before reaching over Payne's face while grabbing one of his arms and hooking it, pulling back on David's head to apply a Dragon Sleeper that puts pressure on Payne's neck. MD pulls back for a few seconds as Payne claws at his arm before David finally bridges up, then turns around with his arm under MD's head and tries to lift him up for a Northern Lights Suplex but MD tries to act as dead weight while David stumbles backward each time he lifts MD a few inches off of the ground, before finally getting next to the same spot of the barricade that they spilled over earlier where David punches MD in the ribs and quickly lifts him up and leans back. MD punches at David's head as he lies on Payne's shoulder parallel to the floor, trying to prevent being suplexed onto or over the barricade, but David falls backward and drops MD over the barricade to make MD land on his head.
"David Payne is on a roll!"
"I must say I'm impressed, Ray! The underdog just suplexed the favorite over the wall and onto his head! And that was an ugly landing!"
David climbs over the barricade and pulls MD up by the hair before walking him over to the ramp. David tucks MD's head under his arm and grabs his waist, intent on some kind of suplex, but MD punches David in the ribs and slides his head free before quickly moving in and placing one arm across Payne's body and one foot behind Payne's near leg and quickly sweeping him, making David quickly fall back and stiffly hit the steel ramp back-first. Dragon remains where he is after delivering the STO, as he is already on top of the motionless David, and the ref begins the count.

David kicks out at 2 1/2 as the crowd begins a chant of "Me-tal Dra-gon! *clap clap clapclapclap*" and MD pulls David up by the hair and walks him up the ramp, finally getting to the top where MD throws David through the curtain into the backstage hallway. The employees move to the side as the ref follows the two competitors trade punches for a moment before MD blocks one of David's punches and grabs that arm then whips Payne into a Coke machine next to a three-way intersection in the hall. Payne bounces off of the machine and stumbles toward a charging MD who throws his arm out for a clothesline, but David ducks as MD catches himself on the Coke machine before David ducks down and puts an arm between MD's legs before pulling him over and rolling him up into a pin. 1... 2... MD kicks out. Both men get to their feet at the same time before MD steps forward and throws another clothesline which David ducks before grabbing MD's arm and giving him an Irish Whip while tripping him into a covered fire extinguisher on the wall, his face smashing through the glass before he pulls his head out of it and falls to the ground, cuts opened up on MD's face. The referee hesitates before deciding not to disqualify David as he covers MD again. 1... 2... MD kicks out.
"Metal Dragon has been busted open! That's a bit of a gray area regarding the rules."
"The object was stationary, so it's legal. He never moved it or picked it up. And if he did, my desire to feel those muscles would have been doubled."
David grabs MD's hair and pulls him up to his feet but MD shoves him away and throws his hand back before delivering a huge chop to David's chest, then MD scoops David up between the legs and looks at a vending machine next to the Coke machine. MD runs toward the vending machine with Payne in his grasp and jumps forward while letting go of his opponent, slamming David through the glass back-first. David falls out of the vending machine and onto the floor face-down before MD grabs a Snickers out of the machine and opens it, then sticks it in his mouth while squatting down and rolling David over. MD then bites the candy bar and takes it out of his mouth, a string of caramel hanging out of the majority of the bar as MD puts his empty hand on the still David's chest to cover him.

David kicks out at the last possible moment despite a seemingly quick count, the inner debate still raging in the referee's mind as to whether he should have disqualified either of these men.
"What the hell? Metal Dragon should've been disqualified!"
"It was stationary. Right place at the right time and a good call by the ref for agreeing. By what you're saying, Payne should've been disqualified as well. Besides, the fans are loving it!"
"We'll just agree to disagree. Damn, now I want a Snickers! Mmm... the chocolate, the caramel, the NUTS."
"Stop."

(OOC: So basically, I figure that if you just slam someone onto a stationary object, it's legal. I mean, they do it with the steel steps on TV all the time.)

MD and David both lie on the ground outside the ring, completely still for a few moments before David begins stirring.
JP: "And it looks like Payne is moving! He's got a great opportunity to cover him right here!"
Ray: "Hurry up and cover him, David! You can't keep Metal Dragon down for long!"
David crawls a few inches and lays his hand across MD's chest to cover him as the referee rushes over and begins the count.

MD raises a shoulder at the last moment as the crowd goes wild.
"He's done not yet!"
"No! He didn't crawl over fast enough!"
David rolls away from MD and pounds the ground in frustration, wasting more of the little bit of energy he has left as MD sits up and begins to try to get to his feet, turning around and getting to one knee as Payne gets up. David walks over to MD as he gets to his feet and punches him in the stomach then holds the top of his head with one hand and delivers an uppercut to MD's jaw that makes him stumble backward. Payne then loads an arm across his body and swings it at MD, striking him on the chest with his palm to deliver a huge chop that sends Dragon right back down to the ground. David grabs MD by the hair and pulls him up to his feet then turns him toward the steel steps before letting him stand there, seemingly groggy and dazed. Payne jumps onto the top of the steps and jumps off with his arm extended to attempt a flying clothesline but MD ducks and sticks his shoulder into David's midsection while grabbing David on the thigh with one hand and the back with the other, then MD walks forward and slams his adversary onto the edge of the steps. Payne bounces off of the steps as the corners of the stairs cut open his back and he falls to the ground.
"Spine Buster onto the steel steps! And that move was meant to cut Payne's back open!"
"That's unnecessary! What's wrong with Metal Dragon?"
MD then proceeds to grab David's ankle and put his lower leg on the steps, then MD stomps David's knee on the steps once before quickly jumping off of the steps and stomping both feet on his chest. MD drops down to cover Payne only to receive a punch in the face that makes MD stand up and back away for a moment only to angrily stomp Payne's chest again, but Payne catches MD's foot this time and gets up with it in his grasp. MD maintains his balance and throws his free leg up at Payne's head to attempt an Enziguiri but David ducks and quickly swings MD's leg to spin him around so that the two men face each other, then Payne immediately jumps onto the steps and leaps off while swinging his leg around his body to perform a hard round kick in mid-air that strikes Dragon on the cheek. MD falls as the impact of the kick makes him spin around and land chest-first onto the barricade with his arms and head slumped on top of it, the fans trying to high-five MD's limp hands as they hang into the crowd while David jumps onto the apron and leaps off with his legs spread somewhat and lands butt-first on MD's upper back to drive him into the barricade with a plancha. MD slides down the crowd wall sideways and slumps down next to it in a heap.
"Metal Dragon driven into the retaining wall! I don't see how see can get up or even kick out after that!"
"The new guy's gonna pull off the upset! I knew you could do it, Davey!"
David rolls MD over and places both hands on his chest to cover him.
1...
2...
MD kicks out again at 2 1/2, still somehow in the match before Payne shoves his upper body to the ground again and tries to pin him once more out of pure impatience. 1... 2... MD kicks out of that pin as well before David rises to his knees over MD and yells "Can you count any slower?" at the ref, who sarcastically shrugs his shoulders as MD sits up. David looks back at MD and immediately receives a slap in the face that makes the crowd go wild before MD delivers a stiff punch to David's jaw that knocks him backward to the ground. MD gets to his feet as Payne pulls himself up on the apron, Payne getting to his feet and turning around only to have MD run at him and thrust his shoulder into David's midsection once before quickly grabbing his arm and Irish Whipping him over the barricade into the crowd. David subconsciously reaches for the barricade and begins pulling himself up on it while MD climbs over it into the crowd and grabs Payne's waist to pull him off of the wall while the ref climbs into the crowd, then MD weaves his left arm through David's armpit and puts it on the back of Payne's head while putting his right arm over David's neck and grabbing his left forearm with it. MD plants his feet with that hold in place before exploding backward to throw David back and plant him head-first into the concrete with a Tiger Suplex '85, letting go upon impact to make Payne flip backward after hitting his head and land on his stomach. MD gets up then walks over to David and underhooks his arms before turning him over onto his back as MD wraps his legs around one of Payne's to put him into a creative pin and the referee drops down to count:
"A Tiger Suplex '85 by Metal Dragon, and here's an inventive pin that he's gonna try!"
1...
"KICK OUT!!! YOU CAN DO IT, DAVID!!!"
2... David kicks out by rolling to the side before sliding his leg free and rolling over more to end up on top of MD, then flipping his lower body forward to perform his own innovative pinning manuever as MD slides his arms out from under Payne's. 1... 2... Dragon pushes his opponent off of him and gets up while David slowly tries to get to his feet, finally reaching his feet as MD runs at him and throws his arm out to attempt a clothesline but David ducks under it and quickly turns around to shove MD forward. MD stumbles as Payne runs up behind him and jumps while putting his arm around MD's head and landing his feet on top of the metal ring barricade, then David jumps off of it at a distance that makes Dragon's throat land across the metal rail and bounce off of it. MD falls down next to the barricade before David reaches through the vertical bars on it and pulls MD's near arm through them, then stands up and slams MD's forearm into the bottom of the top rail on the barricade before MD quickly retracts his arm and holds it in pain on the ground. MD begins to try to get up as David walks over to the guardrail and puts his hands on it while leaning over it and talking trash to MD, who takes advantage of his opponent's ego by quickly grabbing the top of his head once it is within reach and sitting down to drive Payne's jaw into the barricade. David stumbles backward and falls to his back next to the ring as MD leans on the guardrail to rest for a moment.
"Jaw Breaker onto that metal railing! Remember that, David Payne. That's what happens when you begin talking trash before the match is over."
"This is ridiculous! Metal Dragon is giving him cheap shots every chance he gets!"
"Well, then maybe Payne shouldn't give him openings for cheap shots. He's a damn good wrestler as we've seen so far, but he just needs to save the showboating for after he's won."
